On January 29, 2020, local students visited TekTone to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Students toured TekTone’s campus in Franklin, NC and visited with several departments to learn about the different types of jobs that can be found in a manufacturing facility. This field trip was the culmination of 3 week internship by teacher Amanda Clapp through the Kenan Fellows program.
“We would never have gone to TekTone if I hadn’t interned there…They are a great company. They hire mostly local people and they have lots of high school and college interns, so my students now know a professional support network if they pursue tech careers.”
TekTone is proud to support local engineering students through field trips, as well through providing internships and supporting local STEM-related activities and education programs.
