The new Tek-ALERT™ Integration Manager imports events and messages
from one or more monitored systems and displays them together in one place!

The new Tek-ALERT™ Integration Manager by TekTone® allows a facility to seamlessly integrate calls and activities from all systems, and route those calls to the appropriate caregiver. By integrating hard-wired nurse call, wireless nurse/emergency call, fire alarms, security systems and access control systems, Tek-ALERT™ Integration Manager provides a facility with a single point to manage staffing, patient safety and maintenance.

Tek-ALERT™ features include:

    • Integrates our Tek-CARE® NC110 nurse call system with our Tek-CARE®400 and Tek-CARE®500 systems.
    • Unifies calls and alarms from multiple systems so staff can carry just one pager or wireless phone.
    • Uses our familiar Event Monitor display.
    • Can be a standalone system.
    • Calls and alarms are automatically sent to staff pagers and wireless phones.
    • Email notification of all calls and alarms (optional add-on).
    • Send manual text messages to any system pager or phone.
    • Use the included Tek-CARE® Reporting System to create custom reports on calls and alarms from all integrated systems.

CT601 Serial to IP Converter:

Tek-ALERT™ uses a facility’s existing network (LAN) to communicate with other “foreign” systems. Each monitored foreign system connects to the facility’s LAN via the CT601, and uses the LAN to send events and messages to the Tek-ALERT™ PC. The CT601 becomes a virtual COM port on the Tek-ALERT™ PC, providing long distance communication between the PC and the monitored foreign system. One CT601 is required for each monitored foreign system interface.

LS601 Tek-ALERT™ software:

The LS601 software uses user-defined rules to receive data, parse it, and apply filters to place calls on Tek-ALERT™’s  event monitor and remote event monitors. Configuration is performed using TekTone®‘s LS450 Config Tool programming software. The monitored foreign system must supply an accessible data stream via one of the following protocols: serial (event printing, scope paging, contactID), COMP2, or TAP. Contact TekTone® for the availability of additional protocols, as this library is constantly expanding.

Each LS601 software license provides the interface for one monitored foreign device (and includes one CT601 Serial to IP Converter). Add one LS601 for each additional monitored foreign device interface. The LS601 may also be used to add foreign device monitoring to the
Tek-CARE®500 NC501ES Master Station Computer or the Tek-CARE®400 Tek-BRIDGE™ PC (order one LS601 for each monitored foreign device interface).

NC601 Tek-ALERT™ PC:

The NC601 Tek-ALERT™ PC includes the event monitor, plus one remote event monitor which may be used to view call and alarm activity on a networked PC. Also included are our Tek-CARE® Reporting package, the paging interface software for sending calls to staff pagers (requires a Tek-PAGING® paging transmitter), and our LS450 Config Tool programming software.

One LS601 software license and one CT601 Serial to IP Converter are also included with the NC601. Order part number LS601 to monitor each additional foreign system. (Part number LS601 includes one software license and one CT601 Serial to IP Converter).

Franklin, NC— June 13, 2012 —Congratulations to Franklin’s Angel Medical Center! AMC is highlighted in Business North Carolina magazine for ranking #1 in patient satisfaction. Conducted by the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, the survey asked if patients who stayed overnight or longer would recommend the hospital to family and friends. Considerations included outcomes, pain control, hospital noise and cleanliness, how quickly nurses responded, whether surgeons explained procedures and whether patients received good instructions when discharged.

Martin Wadewitz, CEO of Angel Medical Center, commented, “Our hospital has been fortunate to make investments in tools such as our TekTone® nurse call system that make a positive impact on our nurses’ abilities to provide greater focus on our patients, allowing our facility to be ranked number one in patient satisfaction in NC.”

TekTone®’s President, Carlos Mira, said, “Consideration for this impressive achievement included how quickly nurses respond to patients’ needs, and I am proud that TekTone® was a part of AMC’s accomplishment.”

AMC tied with Duke University Hospital and UNC Hospitals for the top spot. AMC, Duke and UNC each received a rating of 83%, well above the North Carolina average of 71%.
